Of the Legal Staff
A new judge has been assigned to oversee the bankruptcy proceedings of Northwest 15th Street Associates, the original developer of the family court building site at 15th and Arch streets.
The clerk of court was directed to assign a new judge to the case after the initial judge recused herself this week. Through the court's random assignment procedure, Judge Eric L. Frank will now preside over the case.
Before coming to the bench, Frank was an attorney with DiDonato & Winterhalter and Miller Frank & Miller. He also practiced with Community Legal Services.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Magdeline D. Coleman of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania recused herself from the bankruptcy case Thursday without giving a reason.
Coleman used to be a senior attorney in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's bankruptcy practice before her appointment to the court this year. Buchanan Ingersoll is the First Judicial District's bankruptcy counsel in the case.
