In an effort to improve communication with the mass torts bar, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court's mass tort program, the Complex Litigation Center, recently launched a new website, according to Stanley Thompson, director of the CLC.
Thompson said one of the biggest changes to the website is that global orders for each mass tort program are now viewable on the site.
"We thought it was important" to develop a new website, Thompson said in a recent interview. "We've been working on it for several months now, probably at least a year, especially since our programs were growing and becoming more active ... with having monthly meetings [of the counsel involved in litigating each mass tort program]. We thought it important that communication between the bar and the bench improved."
The site also lists special instructions to counsel, the liaison counsel lists and the lists of discovery masters. The First Judicial District is working on including judicial opinions on the website, which was developed in-house by the FJD, Thompson said.
It can be accessed at: http://www.courts.phila.gov/common-pleas/trial/civil/clc.asp.
