Two jurors were struck today for unknown reasons in the Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia sex-abuse trial.
There are now 12 jurors and six alternates, down from 12 jurors and 10 alternates at the start of the trial.
The trial entered its second week today.
Defendant Monsignor William J. Lynn has pled not guilty to two charges of endangering the welfare of a child and two charges of conspiracy. Lynn is believed to be the first Catholic Church official charged with endangering the welfare of children sexually abused by members of the priesthood.
Lynn's co-defendant, the Rev. James J. Brennan, has pled not guilty to attempted rape, endangering the welfare of a child and conspiracy. Lynn and Brennan are accused of being in a conspiracy together to endanger the welfare of the youth whom Brennan allegedly sexually abused.
